Tamworth’s popular St George’s Day extravaganza may be cancelled this year due to the coronavirus crisis, but staff from Tamworth Castle and the council’s Arts and Events team are still getting into the spirit of the event and are encouraging everyone to get involved.

A free timetable of crafts, games and activities has been put together in the hope of encouraging families to join in at home and have fun, including a St George quiz that will be shared on Wednesday, April 22, with the answers revealed on St George’s Day - Thursday, April, 23.

Families can also visit the Tamworth Arts & Events and Tamworth Castle Facebook pages where we will be sharing a gallery of photos from previous St George’s Day events and video messages from special guests this Saturday, April, 25.

People are also being encouraged to still wave the flag for St George, by making a St George flag at home and sending their flag waving pictures to the Facebook pages above. All activities will be on the Tamworth Arts and Events website: www.tamworthartsandevents.co.uk and at the Tamworth Castle website here: www.tamworthcastle.co.uk/activity-sheets .

Get waving the flag, dress up or even have your own medieval themed back garden games and party! Don’t forget to send us your photos!
