Shows postponed at Tamworth Assembly Rooms

In response to the Prime Minister’s statement advising members of the public to avoid unnecessary social contact, including in theatres, we have begun the process of postponing and rescheduling shows at Tamworth Assembly Rooms.

We know this is disappointing for our customers; we too are incredibly disappointed with the unfolding events. However, we have no choice and ultimately these steps are being taken to protect the health and safety of our communities.

Given the current lack of clarity as to how long social distancing measures will be in place, we have decided initially to postpone all shows for the remainder of March and April, and will review the longer term programme in the coming days and weeks as the situation unfolds. At the same time, a number of show agents are also contacting us about performances scheduled for later in the year.

We will be speaking to all show agents and hirers with the hope that shows can be rescheduled where possible, and we will then be able to look at exchanging people’s tickets.

We will begin contacting ticket holders for the immediate affected shows, starting with those booked to see this week’s Hastilow Drama Festival, as soon as we can to discuss their options. We politely ask that people do not contact us at this time regarding tickets or refunds (please wait for us to contact you) and hope our audiences bear with us until we have more clarity from the Government and a new programme in place.

We will update our website at www.tamworthassemblyrooms.co.uk, our social media channels on Twitter and Facebook, as and when we have any updates.

In the meantime, we thank you for understanding, patience and support for your community theatre during this unprecedented and incredibly difficult time.
